Rockwool launches RockReveal

Rockwool adds to its range of insulated cavity closer systems with RockReveal, specifically designed for second-fix applications after brickwork has been completed.

Rockwool has added to its range of insulated cavity closer systems with an innovative new product specifically designed for second-fix applications after brickwork has been completed.

Designed for use in timber, metal and masonry cavity walls, RockReveal is an easy-to-fit, firesafe solution for closing cavity reveals at windows and doors.

RockReveal cavity closer consists of a strip of Rockwool stone wool insulation encapsulated in weather-resistant polythene enclosed within a rigid PVCu profile.

RockReveal is simple to install and can be cut to the height or width of the cavity opening and push fitted into the cavity.

Standard flat head galvanised nails are used to fix RockReveal in place, approximately one per block course.

Rockwool cavity closer systems, which include RockReveal and Rockclose, are designed to minimise the occurence of cold bridging around window and door reveals.

Rockwool RockReveal was tested at Warrington Fire Research and was found to be in accordance with BS476 Cert 20 1987.

RockReveal provides a minimum of 60 minutes fire integrity and up to 60 minutes fire insulation.

RockReveal is available in widths of 50, 80, 90 and 100mm, however slight cavity width variations can be overcome by applying pressure during fitting.

In the case of extreme cavity width variation the projecting insulation can be simply trimmed on site using a knife.
