Rockwool exhibits insulation systems at CIH 2010

Rockwool will be exhibiting its insulation systems at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Annual Conference and Exhibition: Housing 2010.

The CIH exhibition is the must attend event for those involved all matters concerning social housing.

Rockwool will be attending the exhibition to demonstrate how it can help social housing stock holders reduce energy costs and carbon emissions through refurbishment of the building fabric.

This includes appropriate insulation measures such as external wall and loft insulation systems.

Rockwool is also able to identify how to match such work with available subsidies through a variety of funding schemes such as CESP and CERT.

Rockwool has a variety of solutions for treating older, solid wall buildings by the selection of the appropriate external wall insulation system.

This includes the Rockshield insulated render system, as well as its pebble dash external wall insulation system.

The recently launched brickslip clad insulation system BrickShield will also be presented, a joint venture with Ibstock Brick.

BrickShield is a new insulated external wall cladding system, which allows solid wall constructions to be upgraded, while still maintaining the traditional brick finish characteristic of Britain's built environment.

The new system has been specifically designed for the renovation and thermal insulation of both domestic and commercial existing buildings.

It combines a real clay brick slip from Ibstock with a highly durable insulation board from Rockwool to give the appearance of traditional brick, while improving the U-values to as low as 0.25 W/mK or better and eliminating cold bridging.

The addition of BrickShield to Rockwool's product range compliments its render finish external wall system Rockshield.

Rockwool can now provide a complete package of external wall insulation measures to ensure that refurbished homes are able to become attractive and desirable places to live as well as achieve reduced energy costs and carbon emissions.

For loft applications, Rockwool will be showing Rockprime a new granulated, blown loft insulation system.

Rockprime is a new mechanically installed blown loft insulation which offers a quality, super fast installation and total flexibility for the complex nature of the loft area within old and new houses.

The process of pumping the insulation into the loft space is done with minimal disruption to the household occupants as it does not require carrying large quantities of rolled insulation through the building.

Rockprime can be installed to any specific thickness to suit required U-Values.

The granulate nature of the product means that a good coverage between and over obstacles such, as joists and pipework is easily achieved, even into difficult to reach eaves, thus minimising thermal bridges.

Rockwool has decided to exhibit at the CIH exhibition because it provides access to a wide spectrum of professionals involved in the running, maintenance and build of social housing stock.

The CIH exhibition will take place between the 22-24 June at the Harrogate International centre.
