New Bosch screwdriver stands the test on site

The new Bosch GSR 10.8 V-Li screwdriver has been designed to make life a little easier on site as Simon Levens, of Aylesbury-based Character Kitchens, discovered when he put the tool through its paces during a recent job.

The compact but powerful cordless GSR 10.8 V-Li is fitted with long lasting, fast charging and fade free lithium ion batteries, giving the screwdriver the capacity to drive up to 130 x 60mm screws in only one battery charge.

Simon put the screwdriver to test for a week and said: "It's great, it's lighter than the GSB 18 VE-2 that we've been using, but can still screw in a 60mm screw which takes a lot of torque! Sometimes you need a more compact tool and compared to its competitors the GSR is incredibly light and easy to use".

After thoroughly testing the lithium ion battery by using a lot of torque, Simon was impressed when it recharged fully in 30 minutes, meaning his downtime was reduced.

Another unique feature of the GSR 10.8 V-Li is its LED light that Simon found particularly useful.

"As a kitchen fitter you often find yourself working in dark cupboards when the work surfaces have already been fitted," Simon explained.

"So the light on the GSR is perfect for this kind of job, I can imagine this tool being used by mechanics too who have to work in dark engines, or by anyone who works in dimly lit areas." When asked what he thought was the best feature of the GSR 10.8 V-Li Simon replied, "I would say its best asset is the feel - it's really balanced in the hand which is an important factor because if you use a tool on a regular basis - it has to feel comfortable".
