Rollalong Hire assists the MET
Metropolitan Police Authority has turned to portable building specialist, Rollalong Hire to supply a variety of accommodation, as required, over a three year period.
This presented a huge logistical challenge and specialist portable accommodation supplier, Rollalong Hire Events helped to ensure the event ran smoothly by making sure all temporary facilities were in place to cope with the crowds.
Martin Franklin, Assistant Operations Director for Farnborough, said, "We believe this to be the biggest temporary exhibition site in the world and last year once again drew record crowds".
Given the large number and diversity of portable units being supplied, Rollalong Hire Events began the build up on site five months before the event took place in July.
The company ensured all temporary facilities were in place to cope with the crowds and provided in excess of 120 cabins of varying sizes and configurations.
These were used for ticket offices, administration, catering and emergency facilities as well as for HM Customs, who are required to attend due to aeroplanes arriving from all over the world.
The Farnborough Air Show organisers also purchased a specially built double glazed observation gallery which was placed on top of a standard hospitality unit, and used by the Flying Control Committee.
The next Air Show will take place in July 2008.
Planning and preparations are well under way to ensure the continued success of this famous international trade and public event.
