Geosynthetics Reviewed In New Rapra Report
A new Rapra Review Report, Geosynthetics, discusses the materials, production methods and applications of each category of geosynthetics - sheet polymeric materials used in civil engineering.
These initiatives include the development of quick fit wall panels, artificial brick paviours, infill and composite doors.
Both Rapra and MTECH are also involved in discussions to attract funding to the development of a "West Midlands building cluster".
Darren Richards, Operations Director, for MTECH says that 'the synergy between Rapra and ourselves is obvious: they will look at the composition of the plastics, composite and rubber materials used - as well as issues of processing, testing and the validation of products.
We will deal with detailed product design, regulation, supply chain management and manufacturing logistics for clients who are committed to manufacturing innovative construction solutions.' Martin Woodley the Regional Development Manager at Rapra Technology adds that 'we at Rapra are delighted to be playing our part in developing the innovative side to an industry that is challenged to meet the ambitious targets that the Government has set for it." Both MTECH and Rapra see their partnership as a first step achievement.
Both companies are well advanced in discussions with the Manufacturing Advisory Service and others to develop the regional building cluster idea.
