Rapra Announces PACE 2004 Speakers
Polymers in Aggressive and Corrosive Environments 2004 is to be held in Cologne, Germany on 8th to 9th September 2004 and provides a chance to learn more about using polymers to avoid problems.
Aggressive environments are fairly common and not just in the pipe or chemical industry.
Problems caused by corrosion can be both costly and time consuming to resolve satisfactorily.
Chemical attack is an issue that can affect many industries including petrochemicals, gas transport and electric power generation, offshore pipework, desalinization, paper and steel mills, cooling towers, waste treatment, food and drink, medical industry, metal finishing, automotive industry, marine sector, and construction.
Polymers can resist some of the chemicals that are most damaging in these environments.
Papers to be presented at the 2004 conference include practical papers from Sermatech, Sauereisen and Corrocoat, and research papers from Solvay and Asahi Glass (who make fluoropolymers).
DSM, EVAL and Dow Corning will discuss thermosets, ethylene-vinyl alcohol and silicones.
Other papers include nanocomposites from Israel, novel coatings from the US Navy in California, polyamides from Iran and Nirex's ideas about using polymers for nuclear waste containment.
Also reviewed, will be the chemical resistance of reinforced plastics, including sudden failure by the Swedish Corrosion Institute.
For more details on any of these papers, contact the Conference Department.
Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are available with this popular conference.
Companies can sponsor individual events such as dinners and receptions or can sponsor individual items such as pens and notepads.
A wallet service is also available where companies can arrange to have a brochure enclosed in every delegate conference bag at a cost of 750 Euros.
