Trion introduces low maintenance air cleaning

Air purification specialist Trion has introduced the T-Series Plus automatic wash option for its Air Boss T Series electronic air cleaner range.

This option makes unit cleaning easier and quicker, reducing the time and cost of maintenance and ensuring that the AIR BOSS T Series continues to remove fume and odours as effectively as possible from commercial kitchen applications.

Available as an integral control module with the T2002, T3003, T4004 and T5005 sized units, the wash option is custom programmed to automatically cycle the wash manifolds, detergent and the exhaust fan.

Specially formulated detergent is sprayed via the wash system's manifolds to clean the plates within the electrostatic cells of the air cleaner, allowing the removal of contaminants in situ.

Once washing is completed the system activates the system's exhaust fan to pull air across the cells and dry them before automatically switching on the power supply.

Trion's Air Boss T Series range features 11 models in total, offering HVAC contractors and catering end-users a complete choice in compact, low profile units to suit different project requirements.

Using proven electrostatic precipitation technology, each unit incorporates two (T2002), three (T3003), four (T4004) or five (T5005) combined aluminium ioniser / collector cells with stainless steel spiked ionisers.

Model choice will depend on the size and demand of individual kitchen hygiene applications, with unit cleaning capacities ranging in air volumes from up to 4,420, 6,630, 8,840 or 11,050 m3/hr.

Contaminated air is drawn through the unit's washable metal mesh pre-filter which traps larger airborne particles.

Remaining particles, some as small as 0.01 microns, pass into a strong electrical field, the air cleaner's ionising section, where the particulate receives an electrical charge.

Charged particles then pass into the collector plate cell section made up of a series of equally spaced parallel plates.

Each alternate plate is charged with the same polarity as the particles which repel, while the interleaving plates are grounded to attract and collect the particulate.

An optional disposable charcoal after filter can be fitted, if required.

All air cleaners can be free standing, wall or frame mounted as required, with numerous options available on left and right handed access, external pressure and electrical requirements.

Units are supplied with a two year parts warranty as standard.

The complete AIR BOSS T Series air cleaner range is available to suit airflows ranging from 1,000 up to 17,000 m3/hr.

All units in the range offer low pressure drops across the filter (90 Pa), ensuring optimum energy efficiency in operation and fuel savings when compared to the performance of traditional media or cartridge air cleaners.
