A Russells Construction product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 7, 2010

Russells Construction has commenced work on a contract for Manchester Ship Canal Developments, to build 108 properties at Eastbank off Great Ancoats Street.

This is the latest phase of a scheme to provide more than 500 new homes for the area, part of the new Ancoats Urban Village.

The scheme will include 79 new-build apartments and 29 mews properties, providing accommodation for a range of buyers, from couples and young professionals to families and downsizers.

The development will incorporate two separate buildings - Mews and Cube - with properties due to come to market later in the summer.

Around 100 construction specialists and suppliers will be working on site during the 14-month build programme and the scheme will be delivered in two phases.

MSCD - a partnership between Peel Holdings and Manchester City Council - has already invested GBP35m into the regeneration of the area.

The scheme, which is aimed at providing local people with good quality housing, has been granted GBP5m funding from the Homes and Communities Agency.
