The Zone residential development at Temple Quay in Bristol marks a first for RMC Floors, who supplied and fixed their Readyfloor beam and block system for the new Barratt Homes project.

It is the first large residential supply and fix contract RMC Floors have completed to date - previously the company had offered a supply only service.

Neil Dowding of Bristlewand Limited, groundworking contractor for Barratt Homes said, " We've used RMC Floors for many years and this scale of project seemed to lend itself well to the new supply and fix service they have recently offered us".

"It simplifies the management of the project from our point of view".

"The RMC Floors people were excellent, providing a professional service and working well with to our programme".

So far three ground floor slabsunits totalling 2500m2 have been completed at The Zone, with a further two units yet to be constructed.

Readyfloor is a suspended floor system comprising pre-stressed concrete beams with standard blocks providing the infill.

The Temple Quays project involved varying spans using both 155mm and 225mm deep Readyfloor beams.

The system can be used just as effectively at first floors as well as ground floor construction.

RMC Concrete Products manufacture a wide range of building materials including Block Paving, BS Flags and Kerbs, Dense and Lightweight blocks, Level Access drainage systems, Architectural Masonry and Garden Landscaping products as well as a wide range of Concrete Roof Tiles and associated fittings.

A full colour brochure detailing RMC Readyfloor is available upon request.
