Britain's best-known housebuilder Barratt, has chosen the continental appeal of the Lothian Roof Tile for its fashionable Ashley Court Apartments, located 3 miles from Nottingham City Centre.

The Lothian is part of Russell Roof Tiles' Premium Product range and offers specifiers, developers and contractors the advantages of a thin leading edge tile with the stylish appearance of a plain rounded edge European design.

Avonside Roofing of Mansfield Woodhouse, installed a total of 15,000 Lothian tiles in Terracotta Red for an authentic continental feel.

Completed in June 2004, this select development is located in a highly desirable area of Nottingham and demanded a product that would complement its surroundings and provide a stunning end result.

Its clever 'scoring' pattern gives the impression of 2 small plain tiles, meaning that 1 single tile covers a larger area.

Not only does this ensure the use of less tiles and quicker installation, there is consequently a reduction in supply chain outlay due to the use of fewer pallets.

In comparison to a standard interlocking tile, Lothian requires 10% less raw material and can help to achieve a significant reduction in on-site waste as only one tile is used - no special tiles are needed for verges, eaves or ridges.

In addition, Lothian is backed by the provision of Russell's high-speed delivery service, which offers delivery to site in around 4-5 days.

The Premium Product Range is manufactured in accordance with the requirements of British Standards EN 490:1994 and EN 491:1994 and is guaranteed for a period of sixty years from the date of supply (subject to the normal terms of guarantee).
