Salto Systems has launched a new self programming electronic locking system specially designed to control doors locked by a mortice lock or multi point lock and doors that have electronic locking devices (such as electric strikes magnets, car park barriers etc) The new Smile range is suitable for use when you want to control doors on a site by simple programming from tags, and where no software or computer is required for programming

It makes the perfect replacement of a mechanical master keying system bringing electronic control of the system and reducing replacement cylinder costs and risk at low cost.

Available in a wall reader format and two models of electronic handle it covers most needs on a site.

Both handle types are quick and simple to fit with bolt through fixing to provide stand alone wire free security solutions.

They are designed to work with most types of lock with an 8mm follower and euro profile cylinder locks, any type of door, including those with narrow styled frames and multi point locking doors.

The Comfort model is an easy to use lock that provides electronic locking of the outside handle, with access controlled by contact of an electronic iButton tag, while leaving the inside handle free to operate at all times.

It also offers a mechanical key override option via a Euro profile cylinder and is both fail safe and secure.

Its sister version, the Security model offers all the features of the Comfort model but is designed for use on doors that need a higher level of locking security.

Its outer plate includes additional anti-drill features and its outside turn button is free spinning until access is authorised via the iButton tag.

This turn button can also operate any Euro profile cylinder, allowing for the locking and retraction of a deadbolt, additional security latch mechanisms etc.

The wall reader solution is ideal for controlling electronic devices such as car park barriers, main entrances on door openers or magnets and lifts etc.

and is 12Vdc powered.

The new Smile system supports up to 1,000 users per lock and provides high security locking via its tamperproof iButton tags.

All the electronics are housed in the inner backplane of the lock for additional security and power is supplied by 3 standard AAA batteries.

These are good for 3-4 years of normal use providing up to 60,000 openings, with an audible and physical low power indicator built-in to the lock and an optional power override device is available.

The handle sets are CE marked and EU 30 minute fire rated.

They are also extremely weather resistant (to IP54 standards) making them suitable for use on internal and external doors, and the wall reader can be used externally in environments exposed to harsh weather conditions.

Smile units are constructed from stainless steel, and the handle sets offer a multitude of finishes and handle styles and have been designed to meet the latest DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) requirements, ensuring they are simple and easy for anyone to use.
