Saint-Gobain Pipelines, the UK's leading supplier of ductile iron pipe systems to the water industry is celebrating a tremendous first year for its award winning PAM Natural ductile iron pipe and fittings system.

Launched in January 2002, the innovative PAM Natural quickly took the water industry by storm and became established as the first choice material for many potable water pipeline specifiers.

The success was recognised with a Gold for best Trade and Technical Campaign at the IPR Cream Awards, a 'highly commended' in the Cast Metal Federation Awards and a shortlist nomination in the construction industry's showpiece event, the Construction Marketing Awards.

The culmination of 15 years intensive research and development by Saint-Gobain Pipelines, PAM Natural sets new standards in product performance and versatility and crucially makes life easier for installers.

Quicker and easier to install, it offers superior performance with no price premium over equivalent conventional pipe systems.

PAM Natural is coated with a superior external protection system, consisting of a zinc-aluminium alloy finished with a highly distinctive blue epoxy seal coat that eliminates the need for PE-sleeving normally required in more aggressive soils.

In addition, all PAM Natural fittings are coated internally and externally with the blue epoxy, providing equivalent external protection to that of the PAM Natural pipe.

This also makes the complete system clearly identifiable for use with potable water.

Inka Humphrey, Marketing Manager for Saint-Gobain Pipelines has already begun to roll out the next phase in PAM Natural's development.
