Such partnership agreements allow both customers and suppliers to benefit from highly efficient supply chain management, product pricing and delivery - from specification to site.
The two companies are also working together on projects involving the Construction Best Practice programme, further development of collaborative working programmes and best practice with supply chain deliverables.
Ian MacFeggan, civil engineering sales manager at Archibalds said, "We're thrilled that the long term success of our partnership with Hewlett has been formally recognised.
Many companies claim to 'partner' but in the construction industry few have the expertise and experience which Hewlett can demonstrate.
"We're also working to ensure close relationships with key national manufacturers - ensuring co-ordinated supply chain management from start to finish." Stuart Firth, Hewlett corporate development said, "This is year five of our supply chain programme and it has proved so successful that we have even advised our own clients on how we structured the process.
The innovative nature of such alliances initially gave rise to concern as to the workability, however with mutual trust and confidence the results are self evident.
"This is not a soft option - both sides of the partnership have to perform to exacting targets.
With the cooperation built on the relationship, any problems are resolved quickly and lessons learnt - the result of which brings about continuous improvement.".
