New Lifts At Temple Meads

A Stannah product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 3, 2004

Passengers at Brunel's Temple Meads station are being given an extra lift by Bristol based Stannah Lift Services.

Stannah Lift Services, based in Bristol, won the Network Rail contract to completely refurbish three existing passenger lifts at the Bristol City station.

Now all passengers, including those with disabilities, can benefit from the improved lift performance and features that ensure the lifts meet the requirements of new standards and legislation, including the Disability Discrimination Act.

The new lifts, together with their upgraded motor rooms, provide a smoother journey, excellent lift car levelling for improved access, audible indicators in and outside the lift car, lower level operating switches for wheelchair users.

Behind the aesthetics of the lift there are increased safety features for the protection of passengers and engineers.

Stannah Lift Services have also recently upgraded lifts on Exeter St.Davids station as part of Network Rail's programme of station improvements across the UK.
