Behind the scenes at the refurbished Sherlock Holmes Hotel in Baker Street is a new and very effective character - a Stannah Service Lift.

The 300kg goods lift makes light work of moving daily deliveries of fresh produce from ground level to the cool rooms and preparation areas below.

With access directly from a courtyard delivery area the lift is certainly helping things run smoothly.

Operations Manager, Mike Steeds explains: " Our very busy location means deliveries could present a particular problem".

"By installing the Stannah Trolleylift directly inside our delivery point we can move everything to stores quickly, efficiently and safely with the minimum of fuss".

"Fresh produce remains fresh, the lorries are able to make their deliveries as quickly as possible and we meet all Manual Handling Regulations and avoid any injuries to our staff".

The lift is very close to the bustling kitchen adjacent to the open plan Sherlock's Grill that leads to the Cocktail and Tapas Bar.

In addition to the luxuriously re-designed bedrooms, the hotel boasts a full health suite, shop and elegant lounge complimented by the four stunning fireplaces within the public areas.

Re-opened in October 2001,The Sherlock Holmes Hotel looks set to become another popular landmark for Baker Street enthusiasts!.
