Stannah Group consolidate UK
manufacturing
The Stannah Group has invested GBP3.5m to build a brand new factory in Newcastle, for their Stairlifts Division.
Andover-based lift-manufacturing Group, Stannah, has invested GBP3.5m to build a brand new 64,500 sq ft factory in Newcastle, for their Stairlifts Division Stannah Stairlifts started manufacturing in Andover 29 years ago and in Newcastle 20 years ago

Stannah Access were at INTERBUILD to demonstrate two of the latest UK manufactured platform lifts; The Stannah Stairiser SX and the Stannah Midilift SL.
Increased sales meant a rapid expansion programme and Newcastle could provide the skilled welders needed to produce the be-spoke rails.
Stannah currently employ 184 Andover based manufacturing staff and 157 in Newcastle.
The new factory means that Stannah is able to retain and consolidate their staff in Newcastle owing to a skill shortage in the South.
Managing Director, David Walton said: "Stannah is committed to keeping its manufacturing facilities in the UK, despite 60% of our products being exported".
"We are the biggest in the world in this business operating in 40 countries, but everything we make is manufactured in Britain and we aim to stay that way".
Stannah Stairlifts, in Hampshire and Newcastle, has manufactured over 286,000 stairlifts in the UK and will next year be celebrating 30 years of production in Andover since that first Stannah Stairlift in 1976.
