A Stannah product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 19, 2009

Stannah has installed two bespoke passenger lifts at Kingston train station as part of the 'Access for All' programme of improvements to provide step-free access for all travellers.

Previously at Kingston station, one platform was only approachable by a steep flight of steps and the other via a steel ramp.

The station now features two 16-person, 1,200kg, hydraulic-drive passenger lifts built to Network Rail specifications, including telephone links and CCTV.

The lifts have operating panels on both sides to ensure all travellers can use them easily and independently.

Stannah have also carried out lift installations on stations at Balham, Hazelmere, Herne Hill, Kidderminster, Taunton, Exeter, London Waterloo and London Victoria.

A project at Clapham Junction is in the beginning stages.

This will include the installation of multiple new lifts to improve access for all.
