Saniflo case study: flying high at Heathrow

A Saniflo product story

Sanispeed performing a perfect role at BMI British Midland, getting waste water to the nearest drain.

Airlines are always kept busy with essential maintenance on aircraft that need to adhere to close internal and international schedules, and BMI British Midland is no exception.

BMI has fleet of 54 aircraft flying from 18 airports throughout the UK.

One of its busiest is Heathrow where the company has a maintenance hangar where aircraft are rigorously checked by a dedicated team.

Keeping the busy maintenance crew fed and watered is essential, however, due to the location there were logistical problems in installing a kitchenette for one of the senior managers.

The problem centred on how to get the waste water to the nearest drain.

Ray Simpson, whose plumbing business offers BMI a regular service, suggested that a Sanispeed could easily overcome the problem.

He says: "As this was a new office and the kitchenette facilities had been planned in advance, the pipework was already in situ, but it need a 'pumped sink' to make the system operate efficiently".

"I recommended and installed a Sanispeed, which is performing a perfect role".

He comments: "We have installed lots of Saniflo units in various premises over the years so if there is anything unusual or particularly demanding I would opt for an appropriate unit from the range.".
