SATRA extends Notified Body status under the CPD
SATRA has extended its Notified Body status and testing capabilities under the European Construction Products Directive (CPD) (89/106/EEC).
The portable device is designed specifically to assess the slip of floorcoverings under actual on-site conditions of use.
The instrument is suitable for all surfaces - even profiled floorings.
Usually, measurements are made in both wet and dry conditions and SATRA experts will even clean the floor to remove contamination and replicate what happens during real cleaning procedures.
The portable slip tester gives a direct reading of the coefficient of dynamic friction (CoF) under real service conditions and it this direct measure of CoF that sets the machine apart from several other portable devices.
The data generated can be used to assess not only the slipperiness of the floor but also how friction might change over time and with different maintenance regimes.
