Keep outdoor areas warm with Helios Patio Heaters

A Scott Brothers product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 21, 2006

Helios patio heaters from Scott Brothers produce the powerful and dependable heat needed to keep smokers satisfyingly warm outside.

A smoking ban in all enclosed public spaces is due to come into force in summer 2007, with lawbreakers facing a fine of up to £2,500.

As a result, many pubs, clubs and restaurants are rushing to create comfortable outdoor smoking areas in a bid to retain their smoking clientele.

Helios patio heaters from Scott Brothers produce the powerful and dependable heat needed to keep smokers satisfyingly warm outside.

Helios electric infrared appliances are equipped with a waterproof cast aluminium housing with a tempered protective glass lens meaning that they are not affected by draughts and wind, thereby being perfect for outdoor use no matter the weather conditions.

Furthermore, the units are silent, odourless, instant and safe and they heat people and objects but not the ambient air.

At the same time, they produce an imaginary sunset glow creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Helios heaters utilise a high quality patented symmetrical parabolic reflector with a double concentric curve guaranteeing maximum performance of up to 25% higher than conventional poor quality reflectors.

In addition, the units use top quality, multicoated Philips HeLeN bulbs, which emit short-wave infrared thereby being an incredible 92% efficient.

Helios appliances are also particularly environmental friendly.

The perfectly shaped reflector means that heat is accurately targeted significantly reducing environmental impact while the Philips HeLeN tubes emit no UV or other harmful radiation.

The Philips HeLeN tubes are also able to deliver instant heat and enjoy a 7000-hour life.

This is three hours of heat per day for over six years! Moreover, the bulbs suffer no degradation of power during their life and are easy to replace.

Helios units are usually wall mounted while they can also be mounted onto features such as lights and parasols.

Alternatively, they can be supplied as free-standing heaters, ready-wired, complete with tripod stand, 10m of cable and an RCD safety plug.

Helios outdoor heaters are also easier to store than LPG Patio Heaters, taking less shelf space.

Helios heaters are also available for indoor use at home, at the workshop or in the workplace.

They come in two models: the Helios Varma Spot heater-1.3kW, supplied with a 2.5-metre cable and plug and the Helios Gold heater-2.0kW, which is supplied without cable, ready for mounting and wiring.

Both models can be alternatively used with the stylish stand with the solid base and the gold coloured fittings also supplied by Scott Brothers.

Helios appliances retail from £139.95 for a 1.3kW wall-mounted model and are guaranteed for two years.
