Schluter extends training programme
Courses are open to any lecturer running TTA-accredited NVQ tiling courses, Intermediate Construction Award, Advanced Construction Award, and Experienced Worker Route schemes for tilers.
Schluter-Systems, is extending its training programme to include tiling lecturers at colleges around the country which are designated TTA Associated Training Centres, along with trainers at independent training centres, who can then teach essential tiling protection to tilers at the beginning of their career.
The courses are open to any lecturer running TTA-accredited NVQ tiling courses, Intermediate Construction Award, Advanced Construction Award, and Experienced Worker Route schemes for tilers.
They are also open to trainers running the intensive tiling introductory courses at independent training centres.
Schluter says training on tiling protection is vital for new entrants to the industry, because in many cases where its technical department is called in to troubleshoot, it finds the right protective measures have not been taken.
Only training on essential protection can help the fixer identify what's required to meet the demands of each individual application.
Being committed to excellence in training, Schluter works in partnership with many organisations, including The Tile Association, the Association of Tiling Training Providers, Stone Federation Great Britain, and RIBA.
Its detailed training programmes are also aimed at keeping experienced installers - along with distributors, retailers and stockists - up to date with modern trends and new technology, ensuring all sectors of the industry have the knowledge to safeguard the long-term integrity of the end-user consumers' installations.
The training workshops run on Tuesdays during each month, looking at protecting tiles with movement joints and transition profiles, along with an overview of waterproofing, uncoupling and acoustics.
Another workshop session focuses on the Schluter-BEKOTEC modular screed system, along with the components which make up the one-stop-shop underfloor heating system, Schluter-BEKOTEC-THERM.
Part of Schluter's training is aimed at helping distributors and stockists ask customers the right questions to ensure they can provide the correct product and technical support for the individual application.
The courses highlight the problems that can occur and the solution to overcome them.
It means the sales person can offer the right system to ensure a first-class installation, and can explain that if those systems are not used correctly the installation could fail.
