Schluter has supplied its stair nosing profiles to provide visibility and protection from wear and tear at a busy shopping centre.
12 flights of stairs needed to be tiled as part of a refurbishment at the Bentall Shopping Centre, Kingston Upon Thames.
Stair nosing profiles are installed to offer safety and protect edges from wear and tear
The centre has fourteen million visitors a year meaning that the edges of the stairs are exposed to heavy mechanical stresses and can represent a risk for injury.
Schluter-Trep-B was installed to provide slip-resistance with its aluminium support section and replaceable thermoplastic tread.
Schluter-Trep-Tap cover profile for the stair risers was installed to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
Schluter-Dilex movement joints were installed to protect the tiles in the lift areas.
Schluter-Reno-Ramp created a step-free transition into the lifts.
