SeaChange low carbon HVAC modular controls

A SC Controls product story

SeaChange range of energy saving HVAC modular controls help meet changes to Part L of Building Regulations

The SeaChange range of energy saving HVAC controls from SC Controls can help consultants, public sector or commercial organisations ensure that buildings meet the energy efficiency objectives of the forthcoming Part L of the Building Regulations.

SeaChange's range of modular controls are included in the Energy Technology List (ETL) and have been proven to offer a low carbon solution.

This recognition allows for qualification of the products under the Government's Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) scheme, thus allowing end users to benefit both through reduced energy costs and also significant tax breaks.

Effective as of January 2006, the changes to Part L of the Building Regulations will form part of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

The EPBD's main objectives focus on reducing carbon emissions in buildings, measuring energy performance, improving energy efficiency and introducing energy labelling for buildings.

To meet these requirements, consultants and their design teams will be required to specify products proven to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency, such as, the SeaChange range of HVAC controls which are included on the ETL.

SeaChange range of intelligent modular controls have been installed in all types of buildings throughout the UK and for a broad range of HVAC applications including low carbon natural ventilation schemes.

The modular concept, 'plug and play' engineering, and proven built-in control strategies cut the design, engineering and commissioning time.

In addition, the demand driven modules provide the building owner with maximum performance and guaranteed cost savings.

"The new Part L of the Building Regulations demands that building services engineers deliver carbon efficient buildings" says managing director of SC Controls, Navid Mehr.

"For confidence in products that can help meet these objectives, they can turn to the Government's ECA Scheme which will reward those who invest in energy-saving equipment specified on the ETL.

By specifying SeaChange modular controls, the end client can take full advantage of these substantial ECA scheme benefits".

The ETL identifies the proven, energy saving technologies and products which qualify for the ECA scheme and are capable of cutting energy costs from day one.

In addition to the capital cost of the equipment, installation costs, professional fees and alteration costs to an existing building are all tax allowable under the scheme.

All SeaChange HVAC control modules incorporate a wide range of built-in, energy saving features as standard, enabling companies to make further reductions in tax liability throughout the lifetime of an installation.
