Siedle, one of the leading manufacturers of communications technology for buildings in Europe, has expanded the functionality of its access control system with the addition of a new controller.

The new door controller with IP interface and webserver makes it easier for users and engineers to use sophisticated high-tech systems, and eases the configuration, administration and operation of the system There is an increasing demand for greater security for properties, employees, goods, data and company information and the advanced applications enabled by the new controller means Siedle can meet these needs

For areas with high security requirements, several access controls can be combined, for example, a fingerprint with a code or a card.

Sabotage and intrusion alarms including forwarding are also part of the advanced features which the new controller now offers.

Siedle already provides access control systems to the small residential and commercial buildings market.

However, with the new controller, Siedle can meet more sophisticated demands and supply larger properties.

The new door controller IP is ideal for the medium-sized commercial business market, where the advanced functionality fulfils companies' requirements, and where the price, size and complexity of the system are manageable for the business.

With its new door controller IP, Siedle also makes it affordable for small businesses and even private households to use what have traditionally been very expensive or complex security technologies.

A typical field of application for medium-sized companies might, for example, be the provision of a system that enables graded access rights at different times for various user groups.

Managers, for example, can enter rooms at any time, the IT expert can enter the computer room between 8am and 5pm and the cleaning personnel between 5pm and 6pm.

The system logs all of these events and manages an automatic attendance list.

The new door controller IP also eases the configuration, administration and operation of the system, thanks to its Ethernet connection and integrated web server.

No special software, hardware or location is required for administration configuration.

The door controller can be accessed with a conventional web browser and the relevant access data via LAN or Internet.

Depending on access rights the user is granted graded access to the function: the personnel department, for example, can only assign access rights and read attendance lists, while technical functions and event logs are the domain of the IT service.

The Siedle access control system also makes it easier for engineers and users to use high-tech systems because it integrates perfectly into door communication, avoiding a hotchpotch of different devices and installations.
