Charities score with Laidlaw Scott football

A Scottish Building Federation product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 1, 2007

Building and Maintenance contractor Laidlaw Scott, a member company of the Scottish Building Federation, held its annual charity football tournament recently in Glasgow.

The event, which featured teams from Housing Associations, Colleges, Suppliers and Local Authorities, was in aid of the Lintel Trust and Yorkhill Children's Foundation.

Following an afternoon of thrilling football, the tournament was eventually won by Laidlaw Scott themselves (!), after beating Langside College on penalties following a tense and close final.

Commercial Manager at the firm, Chris Farmer, who organised the event, said: "This year's event was another big success".

"We raised around GBP1,600, which is to be split between the two charities".

"I would like to extend a big thank you to all the teams who competed and helped raise funds for the event.

We were very fortunate to have fantastic raffle prizes donated to us by numerous companies - so a big 'thank you' goes out to them as well".

"It was an excellent day, but the most important thing was that we raised a good amount for both charities.".
