Development of first Scottish eco-town
The development of Scotland's first eco-town at Cardenden is a clear blueprint for the future development of sustainable communities.
The construction industry is key in the drive for sustainability, and Government targets for zero carbon homes and new greener building regulations will set demanding new standards However, with the expertise contained within the industry, universities and research institutes, Scotland is well placed to be at the forefront of the drive towards a more sustainable construction industry

With the ongoing consultation on the Climate Change Bill, which has set a target of reducing emissions by 80% by 2050, it is key that ecological and sustainability issues are at the heart of building policy, an issue we are ideally placed to work with the Government on.
