Cardok intelligent parking solution for developer
Cardok parking bays sit flush with ground level, but raise and lower hydraulically, creating two parking spaces in the room for one, for each of the two apartments at Strand Properties development.
A 1930s gentleman's residence in a conservation area has been transformed to provide 'unique' state of art living- inside and out- through an innovative approach by the developer Strand Properties.
As well as featuring cutting edge lighting, ventilation and home entertainment technology integrated into the high-specification apartments, Eversley, in Bowden, Cheshire, features a Cardok , the 'intelligent' parking solution, for two of the six luxury homes, on the market for between GBP800,000 and GBP1.5m.
The Cardok parking bays sit flush with ground level, but raise and lower hydraulically, creating two parking spaces in the room for one, for each of the two apartments.
Each deck can carry up to 3 tonnes- more than the weight of most 4X4's- yet is very energy efficient using as little energy as it takes to boil a kettle to function! Operated by remote control, the car driver does not even have to get out of the vehicle to trigger the Cardok and park.
Cardok takes only 25 seconds to raise or lower completely, and once parked, the vehicle's security is optimised, as the car on the lower deck is hidden away below ground in a steel, watertight environment.
Strand Properties managing director Dr Mazen Charbak explains, "Eversley is within the Bowden conservation area so planning constraints meant it was impossible to build garages for all the apartments".
"The only way to provide secure parking, which we felt was an essential requirement for potential purchasers, was to install a Cardok each for apartments 1 and 3".
"The two homes are the largest villas and have exclusive entrances, so the innovative concept of Cardok compliments them perfectly".
"To our knowledge, there is nothing like it in the Cheshire area, and it is already generating a lot of interest even before our official launch".
The Cardok concept was developed when inventor Alastair Newing had only off-road parking at his home in Clifton, Bristol; his car had been vandalised several times but the local council would not have given permission for a garage.
He devised Cardok- and attained his planning permission.
The original concept has evolved to now include single, double and multi-deck options, providing an innovative solution to off-road parking in areas where such space is at a premium.
Cardok not only ensures the vehicle is safe, but can add up to 12% to the property value and can potentially significantly reduce the car insurance premiums.
