Staff moral at Martin-Baker's factory is at an all time high following the installation of the Breezair Evaporative Air Cooling System by distributors, Clean Air Installations Ltd.

Temperatures on the factory floor have been reduced from sweltering summer highs of in excess of 40C to comfortable ambient temperatures of around 23C The world's longest established and most experienced manufacturer of ejection seats, Martin-Baker Aircraft Company operates in the UK from its wholly owned 22-acre site at Higher Denham in Buckinghamshire

The company's main production area is a single story, 61,000 sq.ft building which houses both the machine and fitting shops.

Within this area Martin-Baker employs a workforce of 220 people who are engaged in machinery assembly, sheet metal work, welding and injection moulding.

Over the years, Site Manager, Graham Dumbleton had tried various methods of cooling but all had proved ineffective.

During the summer months, the heat generated on the factory floor had an adverse effect on the workforce's morale, decreasing productivity and increasing downtime.

Looking at ways off improving conditions, Graham Dumbleton investigated various methods of cooling the premises and decided on the Breezair system as the most beneficial and economic to run.

Following a site survey carried out by an engineer from Cleanair Installations it was agreed that the factory would require 15 units with the coolers strategically placed to provide spot cooling at specific areas around the factory.

"The Breezair systems are fantastic", says Graham Dumbleton.

"Even the directors have remarked on the transformation in the atmosphere.

Although unquantified as yet, in just four weeks there has been a marked improvement in morale and machine reliability." Regarded as the most advanced evaporative cooling technology in the world, the environmentally friendly Breezair system is economic to install, cost effective to run and consumes less energy than conventional air-conditioning systems.

Far more versatile than standard cooling methods, Breezair is capable of providing sufficient cool air to overflow and prevent hot air entering a building.

As fresh air is continually drawn from outside, then filtered and washed, the potential for "sick building" syndrome, caused by constantly circulating air, is avoided.

The Breezair is suitable for both commercial and industrial applications in a spectrum of industries that include agriculture, horticulture, manufacturing, catering and hotels, and public and residential buildings.

Manufactured to the highest standards, the Breezair is backed by Seeley International's 30 years of experience in climate control and the company's commitment to excellence in customer service.

Originally founded 70 years ago and is still a family run company, Martin-Baker's experience and expertise in the manufacture of ejection seats and related equipment is recognised throughout the world.

In addition to operating from its headquarters in the UK, the company also has locations in France, Italy and the United States as well as being represented all over the world.
