Cool solution to Nisbets new facility
Clean Air Group has provided the company with a cost effective solution to problems of excessively high temperatures by installing Seeley International's Breezair evaporative cooling.
By installing Seeley International's Breezair evaporative cooling onto the upper mezzanine floor of Nisbets' new facility in Avonmouth near Bristol, Clean Air Group, a specialist in industrial cooling, has provided the company with a cost effective solution to problems of excessively high temperatures Now, due to the effective cooling properties of the Breezair system, internal temperatures in excess of 35C have been reduced to a comfortable working temperature of 24C

Cooling system in Buxton spa bakery
Temperatures in main bakery area have been reduced by up to 10degC following the installation of the Breezair Evaporative Cooling Systems from Seeley International (Europe).
The top mezzanine floor is located very close to the roof and therefore became extremely hot, especially in summer when despite modifications to the company existing ventilation system, conditions became intolerable for the workforce.
Looking for a solution, Nisbets invited Clean Air Group, together with a number of other companies, to suggest ways in which the area could be cooled.
"We looked at a number of ideas, including refrigerated air conditioning, which was very expensive", said Jerry Beeston, Facilities Manager at Nisbets.
"We liked the innovative concept of the Breezair system and the fact that it uses water instead of refrigerants for cooling".
Following an in depth site survey, Clean Air Group proposed the installation of eight Breezair coolers onto the roof of the building to provide 10 air changes an hour.
Internal vents have been strategically placed to inject a steady flow of cool, fresh air to a total area of 2,700 square metres.
Temperatures are controlled by programmable regulators, which provide four different control modes.
"This summer when outside temperatures have reached 34C, the upper mezzanine floor has stayed at a comfortable 24C", concluded Jerry Beeston.
"If Breezair had not been installed, we would have had to close the floor during the excessively hot weather".
Such has been the success of the first installation that Nisbets are proposing to ask Clean Air to install Breezair coolers into other areas of the warehouse within the next two years.
"Breezair is ideal for cooling warehouse complexes where mezzanine floors have been installed to make maximum use of the headroom for storage and picking and packing", said Marie Wren, Managing Director of Clean Air Group.
"In such installations, evaporative air cooling is the only cost effective solution".
The Breezair system is housed in a simple, clean, ultra-modern designed plastic casing specially developed to withstand all weather conditions.
The Breezair's state-of-the-art components include an innovative water distribution system, which delivers continuous, balanced water coverage to all the pads.
The world-patented system ensures maximum cooling efficiency and minimal maintenance problems.
An innovatively designed, aerodynamic fan provides a constant, even flow of air over the pads to provide a welcome cool breeze with minimal noise and low energy consumption.
Other pioneering components include a highly efficient water pump that guarantees constant and reliable cooling when most needed, and a long lasting variable speed motor that gives maximum comfort level control.
To ensure that the Breezair coolers are always working at maximum efficiency Clean Air's team of mobile engineers will undertake bi-annual maintenance.
