Safeguard's ProBor-20 gel is a brush-applied treatment for woodworm and dry rot that is based on natural borate salts is now available to the DIY market for the first time.

The product's gel formulation allows it to penetrate more deeply into timber than conventional preservatives, providing a more thorough treatment No spray mist is created when ProBor-20 is applied, so no statutory "re-entry" time has to be adhered to

As long as the areas being treated are protected until the timbers are dry, other trades can carry on working while treatment takes place.

ProBor-20 was previously available only to qualified applicators under a "professional use only" HSE classification.

However, in response to the level of interest in the product, Safeguard have successfully applied to the HSE for an "amateur use" classification.

This makes the product available to the DIY market for the first time.

ProBor-20 is available from Safeguard at £65.85 + VAT for a 5-litre pack.

A new, 1-litre pack is now also available.
