Oldroyd cavity drain membranes offer a fast and convenient way of covering damp and contaminated floors - even on projects where ground-gas protection is required.

Oldroyd cavity drain membranes offer a fast and convenient way of covering damp and contaminated floors - even on projects where ground-gas protection is required Oldroyd cavity drainage membranes are supplied in rolls of up to 40m2 which are simply laid over the damp or contaminated floor without the need for time-consuming surface preparation

A screed or floating timber floor can then be laid on top.

Because Oldroyd cavity drain membranes are embossed with studs or grooves, the underlying floor is able to "breathe" and any ground-gasses can be vented away.

Specially-developed butyl sealing tapes are used to join sections of membrane.

In situations where protection against ground gasses such as methane or radon is required these are used in conjunction with "overseal tapes" to make a double-seal.

The benefits of using cavity drain membranes are explained further in Oldroyd's new brochure entitled, "Flooring: Moisture and Gas Protection".

The brochure explores the use of three different membranes with differing stud/groove sizes to provide solutions for a number of commonly-encountered situations.

Each of the membranes featured benefits from Oldroyd's unique multi-layer technology which allows 40% recycled plastic to be used in the membrane's manufacture with no corresponding reduction in performance.

Oldroyd membranes are distributed in the UK by waterproofing specialists Safeguard Europe.

Further information about the Oldroyd range of membranes including CAD drawings and NBS specification clauses can be found on the Safeguard website.
