Smoothly does it with Sentinel X500
Solar heating systems and ground source heat pumps benefit from Sentinel Inhibited Antifreeze.
The interest in the UK and Ireland in environmentally friendly domestic heating and hot water supply systems has seen solar water heating panel products take off in a big way and the fascination in ground source heat pumps as a potential source of 'green' heat, pushing up enquiries across the British Isles Both systems utilise fluid to collect the available heat and transfer it to the system - and with water circulating in solar panels - usually mounted externally on a roof - and water circulating in pipes under the ground there is a danger that that fluid could freeze and cause problems for the system - not to mention a failure to provide heat for that particular home

The answer here is for all water based renewable technologies to utilise some form of inhibited antifreeze.
Sentinel is a leading expert in water treatment products and its X500 anti-freeze product, used by many of the major companies and contractors in the solar sector, is an inhibited anti-freeze, that as well as stopping the fluid freezing, helps control corrosion, scale, boiler noise and hydrogen gassing in all indirect heating systems including those containing aluminium components.
Sentinel X500 is suitable for all variations of municipal supply water - hard and soft.
For the best results, systems should be flushed with X300 for new systems and those up to six months old and X400 for existing systems.
The dosage of X500 required will depend on the likely protection needed - but for example, 20% dosing will protect to temperatures down to minus 6 degrees C, 35% dosage will protect down to minus 15 degrees C.
X500 is a tried and tested product that protects and works effectively down to -30 degrees C and up to 180 degrees C without breaking down.
It's highly recommended by major contractors and used consistently as a reliable antifreeze product across the UK.
X500 is available from your merchant in 5 litre bottles or 20 litre cubitainers.
