SES Help North Wales Police To Chill Out

A SES Shepherd Engineering Services product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Sep 9, 2003

SES has installed two AiAX-Aermec RVB 1402A screw chiller units at the new £13.2 million PFI North Wales Police Divisional Headquarters facility project.

The three tonne chillers will meet the cooling requirements for the 300 employees who are to be situated at the new site when completed in December 2003.

SES was selected by main contractor Balfour Beatty Construction as their partner from the outset on this scheme, to provide the £3.5m mechanical and electrical design and installation of the building services for the new Divisional Headquarters.

This comes after the teams recently successfully delivered the £21m PFI Norfolk Police HQ and Operations Centre in Wymondham near Norwich.

The new facility in St Asaph will accommodate the force's central division, which is currently based in Llandudno, consisting of special constables, beat officers, mobile resource units, task teams and SOCO.

The Divisional Command Team will also be centred there.

In addition to the main office development the site comprises a separate three-storey building to accommodate the Scientific Support Unit, with specialist laboratories for fingerprints and forensics, as well as communications and major incidents.

The development also includes a 32-cell single-storey custody suite.

The developer of the site is Babcock and Brown.
