SES recently completed its ?1m plus building services contract at a new showpiece sports education facility for the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough.

The new £6.5m Olympia Building has been designed to serve both teaching and research needs in the field of sport and exercise, as well as helping meet the recreational needs of the campus Unique features in the building include an exercise physiology research laboratory, biomechanics lab and a state of the art environmental chamber

The new laboratory and chamber will enable students to control the environment from -20oC to +40oC with pinpoint accuracy and simulate the climate of almost any country in the world.

This will put the University of Teesside at the cutting edge of sports science studies and provide staff and students with an excellent research source.

The new building will also provide a first class facility for an athlete's development, maybe even helping them maximise there potential so they can compete on the world's stage.

The SES contract comprised the installation of HVAC, lighting, small power and a VRV system providing comfort cooling and heating.

The principal contractor for the project was Allenbuild.
