Council Moves One Step Closer To Its New Home

A SES Shepherd Engineering Services product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 17, 2004

Ses has recently installed a three-metre long chiller and three air handling unit systems into South Cambridgeshire District Council's new office development.

This now brings the Council one step closer to moving in to its bespoke premises later this year.

When completed the three-storey development at Cambourne Business Park will house staff from three separate office locations.

The new building has already been highly acclaimed for its innovative and sustainable building design and construction credentials.

This has led the structure to achieve an 'excellent' BREEAM rating (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method, version 1998) - regarded by the UK construction sector as the 'gold standard' for environmental design and management.

SES was contracted in May 2003 to design and install the ?1.7 million mechanical and electrical building services for the office block.

The principal contractor for the development is Alfred McAlpine Special Projects.
