The apprentices, who are benefiting from extensive site-based experience throughout the country, are working towards an NVQ in their chosen discipline.
They attend block release at college, where they are taught in a discreet group with their SES colleagues.
Heating apprentice Mark Jones, 23, who is based at a site in Speke, Liverpool, commented, "The block teaching means I'm learning more than I would if it was just day-release, and because we attend College with all the other SES apprentices that are working towards the same NVQ, we have each other to lean on".
Matthew Galley, 24, heating apprentice at Bridgewater Place, added "Its great to get together with other apprentices and share experiences from on site".
"I'm more comfortable asking the others for help; its all a lot less intimidating than I thought, even being on site".
The SES apprentice scheme, run in conjunction with training providers JTL and BEST, aims to support a new generation of Engineers into the Building Services trade.
Christine Wright, Training Manager for the MandE Company, said, "The new Apprentice Scheme is working really well for all involved".
"The apprentices are gaining valuable, paid experience and the management of the scheme has been simplified dramatically thanks to the use of 2 dedicated colleges - Leeds College of Building and Huddersfield Technical College".
"It's proving a great success.".
