SES and Bridgewater Place contract in Leeds
Work is progressing well for SES at its Bridgewater Place contract in Leeds city centre.
In a negotiated contract worth £11.6m, SES is responsible for the design, installation, testing and commissioning of MandE services to this mixed use 32-storey tower.
Considerable time savings of around 50% have been attributed to the extensive use of offsite prefabricated systems, which are designed and developed by SES and delivered on weekends due to the restricted access and tight storage conditions at this city-centre development.
SES Northern Regional Director Peter Lewis said 'Due to the restrictive location of the building, modularisation and prefabrication techniques are being used as much as possible to assist with the quick and easy installation of many of the MandE services.
In addition to time savings, other benefits of this method of installation include the reduction of labour costs, less waste on site, benefits to the programme and most importantly, a reduction in safety risks'.
Promising to be the one of the highest and arguably the most impressive new buildings in the north of England, Bridgewater Place will be a mixed use development offering office and residential accommodation in two blocks linked by a stunning ten storey glass atrium.
The project is a joint venture between developers Landmark Development Projects and St James Securities and is being built by main contractor Bovis Lend Lease.
SES is currently working on the 7th and 8th floors of this landmark building.
