Building services company SES, part of the Shepherd Building Group, has been awarded the Investors In People (IIP) award for the 7th year running.

The award recognises organisations that have improved their business and realised goals through the management and development of their people.

For SES, working within the IIP Standard has helped them create a friendly and supportive working environment, recognising that teamwork, innovation in training activities and the recognition of individual achievement are paramount to operational effectiveness.

Allan McDougall, MD of SES, commented, "I am proud to be part of a company who has, for so long, maintained a work ethic that puts its people first".

"A motivated and happy workforce has benefits beyond operational success, it creates an environment where people actually want to be".

SES has recently instigated a number of enhanced training initiatives, including the re-launch of the SES Development Programme for engineers, which incorporates 24 modules across the topics of Management, Commercial, Technical, Safety and Personal Development, and also its revamped Apprentice Training Scheme, which has so far seen the Company employ 77 craft apprentices and trainees throughout the country.
