3.5 tonne chiller is being craned into position by SES as part of the first phase in Middleborough's 'Digital City'

A 3.5 tonne chiller is being craned into position by MandE Company SES, who has been commissioned to undertake the GBP3.75m building services contract for two new buildings at the University of Teesside, the first phase in Middleborough's 'Digital City' project This GBP22m project will see the building of an Institute of Digital Innovation and a Centre for Creative Technologies

DigitalCity's aim is to realise the Tees Valley's potential to generate and sustain a fast growing, high level economic base in the digital technologies sector with an international reputation for creativity and innovation.

A specialist 100-tonne crane was commissioned to undertake a number of lifts over a 2-day period, with 4 Carrier chiller units, 4 air handling units and prefabricated modules among the items craned on to the roof of the IDI (Institute of Digital Imagery) and CCT (Centre for Creative Technologies) buildings.

SES is working with principal contractor HBG on both locations, to complete the development for the commencement of the 2007/08 academic year.
