Severnside Safety Supplies - More than just Totectors! One could be forgiven for thinking that safety boots of one form or another are the be all and end all of Severnside's existence and, whilst it is far from true, (just look at the website www.sevsafe.co.uk ) it is easy to see where the misconception might come from The recent (re)introduction of Totectors has added to an existing variety of safety footwear that was seemingly comprehensive anyway - from the specialised Treemme chainsaw boots imported from Italy to the Steitz Secura range (market leaders in Germany) which includes Goretex boots and chainsaw boots amongst many other types to the more traditional Tuskers and Harbour Lights styles - you'd have thought that was enough! However when one of Severnside's oldest business friends became involved with Totectors they decided it was too good an opportunity to miss and have been proved correct in thinking that the Totectors name still means a lot to people

The Danger of Working at Height
Safety harnesses are one of many safety products illustrated in an excellent and highly informative new brochure which contains good background information as well as product descriptions.
Be Seen Be Safe - and at low cost!
Cost need no longer be a barrier to people at risk being properly protected with appropriate high visibility ('hi-viz') clothing.
Fortunately the new owners of Totectors, who also produce the slightly more upmarket ZX range, have been able to supply a product that more than lives up to the name as well as being more competitively priced than in it's previous incarnation.
Whilst many Totectors styles are strictly for office/factory wear there are some suited to the rigours of outdoor work (all though not being attacked with a chainsaw!) - for example the Pioneer boots conforming to EN345 S3 meaning they have steel midsoles as well as toecaps and are made from water repellent leather.
Also have sealed stitching, are extra wide fitting and are available in sizes 3 -13 including half sizes from 61/2 to 101/2 in black and just the full sizes in brown.

Arblite lightweight chainsaw users clothing
Arblite lightweight protective clothing is around 33% lighter than most other currently available clothing.
Rigger boots are popular with many people - because they are easy to get on/off probably.
Not so good for ankle support but there is a Totectors rigger available with steel midsole and toecap and warm fur fabric lining.
Also comes as extra wide fit in sizes 6 -12.
Available soon will be the Goodyear welted sole range in black or brown full grain leather or sand nubuck.
All come in sizes 6 - 12 and are wide fitting.
The black and brown boots are water repellent and have steel midsoles as well as toecaps.
For those who need the additional protection of chainsaw boots Severnside can offer a wide variety at very competitive prices, mainly due to importing the boots directly from manufacturers in Italy, Germany and Scandinavia.
The biggest seller at the moment is the Treemme Aquastop.
This Italian made boot conforms to EN 345 S3 Class 2.
As well as having water repellent full grain leather uppers these boots also have Aquastop lining which is breathable as well as waterproof.
This means these boots are WATERPROOF! Severnside have three other types of leather chainsaw boots available - two more from Treemme and one from Steitz Secura - as well as a very well priced Class 2 rubber boot - the Skooga from Scandinavia - and the more upmarket Class 3 Hunter Rubber Boot with seamless lining and steel midsole.
It's not just special boots that chainsaw users need so Severnside stock the full range of clothing, gloves and helmets for this application.
Fristads Forestry Clothing from Sweden includes protective trousers and bib and brace to EN 381-5 Class 1 Design A as well as jackets that are water repellent.
SIP clothing is also stocked.
For the particular users of chainsaws in trees Severnside have harnesses, belts, ropes, karabiners, cambium savers, split tails, climbing irons and other accessories from Miller, Komet, Protecta, Edelrid and Willans.
Many of these items for arborists are shown in the new brochure just published by Bacou-Dalloz and available now from Severnside.
Not everyone working in forests, fields etc needs protection from chainsaws - but they probably do need protection from the good old British weather.
Swanndri all wool, all weather clothing from New Zealand is an old favourite introduced into the forestry market by Severnside some 20 years ago and now having a bit of a revival.
Interestingly it is the original styles that still seem the most popular i.e the Ranger shirt, Bush Shirts and Rover jackets.
There has been some interest lately in the new 'extreme' versions of Ranger shirts and Bush Shirts.
These have waterproof/breathable linings.
Those who know Swanndri might ask why this is necessary - well they are for very extreme conditions! 'Traditional wool' is not everyone's choice so Severnside stock a choice of the 'tex' es - jackets and trousers and boilersuits from Tranemo, Kansas, Fristads - T-Tex, Goretex, Bretex and so on as well as Lyngsoe Microflex - a more economical choice for those who do not want to pay the ultimate price for staying warm and dry! Another form of protection that seems to have become completely ubiquitous is high visibility clothing - Severnside have waistcoats, jackets, anoraks, trousers and even boilersuits in yellow and orange as well as combinations with other colours.
These all conform to EN 471 and in some cases GO/RT3279 Railway Group Standard (Orange).
Garments range from the very lightweight to the very warm and waterproof.
These protective garments are complemented by Severnsides' workwear and leisure wear which can be branded with embroidery or heat sealed transfers to produce corporate identity clothing for anyone from the smallest to the largest company.
All PPE requirements are covered by Severnsides' range - safety helmets, ear muffs, spectacles (including safety sunglasses and yellow lens options - these look pretty good as well as being protective - good fun at the shows!), goggles, respirators as well as gloves of all sorts from anti-vibration and anti syringe to disposable latex and Canadian riggers.
Signs, First Aid Kits, Spillage Control, Site Safety Equipment, Hand Cleansers and even Paper almost complete the range! A final mention for a product with a difference - the Rubig Safety Linch Pin.
This high quality, patented fastener is a little different from the rest of our product range but no less important a piece of safety equipment.
The unique design and quality of this small item mean that it securely attaches implements to tractors without getting knocked out in arduous conditions - which forestry tends to be of course.
It also has applications in safety conscious applications in mining, defence, transport and construction as well as it's original one in agriculture.
