SFS irius Goes Celestia
SFS intec's Construction Fasteners division has launched a range of irius-coated fasteners with the exciting Celestia by Corus metallic finishes for maximum aesthetic impact.
"The SFS irius fasteners were recommended as part of a total package from Corus," commented John McGrevey of roofing contractor Grainger Building Services.
"They offer a neat rivet type finish that gives a smooth looking appearance and are easy to fix".
"We were happy to use the Corus recommendation as the irius fasteners were austenitic stainless steel which has a low thermal conductivity that helped ensure the construction met Part J Building Regulations (Scotland) for thermal performance".
"" The new stadium uses a twin skin over purlin construction comprising a liner sheet fastened to steel purlins, a Kalzip clear vapour control membrane and 200mm of insulation.
The risers to support the standing seam 1.0mm aluminium roof were fastened direct to the purlins.
The roof insulation used two 100mm layers of Kalzip Plus 35 glass fibre quilt with high thermal performance.
The Falkirk FC Community Stadium is being built as part of the GBP 100m regeneration plan for the Middlefield and Westfield areas, to draw in business and create jobs in the area.
It includes leisure and hospitality facilities to become the hub of the district.
