The 16,500 sq.m roof at The Orchard Centre comprised Corus D35 Deck, overlaid with a vapour barrier, 150mm of Duorock mineral wool insulation and Alkorplan single ply waterproof membrane.
SFS intec self-drilling SD3 fasteners were used to fix the decking to beams.
SFS TK fasteners with nylon telescopic tubes were specified to fix the insulation and the waterproof membrane to the steel deck, while providing a thermal break to assist meeting Part L standards for energy efficiency.
