SFS intec launch the ISO-TAK thermal break fastening system to enable quicker, high consistency quality fastening of single ply membranes and insulation.

New ISO-TAK contributes to an economic means of compliance to Part L of the Building Regulations "We have improved the cost-competitive ISO-TAK system based on patented designs to offer the most comprehensive range on the market," says Martyn Holloway, SFS intec Flat Roofing applications Manager

"We manufacture and supply all the components direct to contractors and roofing membrane OEMs.

This means they benefit from the direct support of the dedicated SFS site service, and all the on-site experience we have accumulated over the years.

"To aid the contractor in optimum installation of the ISO-TAK range, in conjunction with Bosch tools we have developed a specialist range of installation drivers including magazine-fed collated sleeves and fasteners.

Use of these uniquely designed drivers ensure perpendicular fastening to the correct depth at 15 fasteners per minute across a whole day's work.

This ensures the same high quality pull out resistance right across the roof, no matter how large an area.

The drivers also minimise back and repetitive strain injuries by reducing bending, aiding finish quality and on-roof safety".

The 19-strong range of flanged polyamide tube types are divided into the Standard and Plus ranges (Plus includes a thinner diameter stem and reinforced penetration point).

Both ranges are able to accommodate normal and high wind-loading, varying types of single ply membrane structures, and insulation only fixing for adhered membranes.

"The new ISO-TAK range has been very well received in projects in Sweden" Continues Martyn.

"The development process has included input from major membrane manufacturers; a free wind load testing service can also be provided." The new ISO-TAK range is ideal for specification as a high quality, 25-year warranted branded system to ensure maximum performance from single ply roofing design.

The range covers metal, concrete and timber decks, as well as foam and mineral wool insulation, in thicknesses from 75mm to 300mm; even greater depths are available to special order.

SFS renowned range of austenitic stainless steel fasteners feature drill points to ensure maximum and consistent resistance to pull-out and unwinding over the life of the roof.

This contrasts with the traditional short-term performance of pierce point fasteners which in punching and tearing the deck often unwind due to cyclical wind loadings.
