'New generation' of glass block products which Shackerley claims, will 'revolutionise' the way these contemporary building materials are perceived and specified by British architects and designers.

Already the country's largest glass block distributor, Shackerley has now sealed a major new distributorship deal with Seves, the world's leading manufacturer of glass blocks for architectural and interior design applications With immediate effect the Lancashire manufacture and distributor has secured exclusive rights to distribute the Seves glass block portfolio throughout the UK

Seves has achieved its world leading position through organic growth, acquisition and investment in advanced technology, and has brought together under one umbrella some of the most prestigious brands in the international glass block market such as Vetroarredo, Solaris, Vitrablok, Vidromatone, and Sindoco.

The company's products are available in an exceptional array of colourways, formats, sizes and technical specifications and are being used to create cutting edge internal and external architectural features for prestige projects across the globe.

Brian Newell, Shackerley Group Chairman says that he is delighted that Seves, whose glass block sales account for over 40% of the entire world market in value terms, has chosen to entrust the development of its UK architectural sales to Shackerley.

"Whilst our domestic residential market for glass blocks is well established, the specification sector is less developed than in continental Europe and many other parts of the world.

We see huge untapped potential and are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this inspirational product range to the attention of architects and designers here in the UK".

Brian Newell adds: We have a proven track record and a wealth of expertise in glass blocks and have promoted the Solaris brand very successfully for many years.

Now as a result of this exciting enhanced partnership with Seves, our nationwide architectural sales team is able to offer customers full access to the company's excellent 'Design' and 'Technology' collections and even to a bespoke design and manufacturing service for projects of appropriate scale and significance".

He concludes: "This partnership takes us into a new league altogether and marks the beginning of a new era for glass blocks in this country".
