Schuco windows deliver highest thermal insulation

A Schueco UK product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 20, 2010

As part of Schuco's Energy2 'Saving Energy, Generating Energy' initiative, the company has introduced enhanced versions of its AWS 75.SI and AWS 75 BS.SI aluminium windows.

With typical Uw values of 1.3 W/m2K with double glazing and 1.0 W/m2K with triple glazing, these super-insulated .SI windows deliver high levels of thermal insulation.

The AWS 75.SI system has an extensive range of profiles allowing it to accommodate single opening windows as easily as full storey height multi-light constructions.

In addition to its outstanding thermal properties, it can be fitted with glazing up to 61mm thick, meaning that the system delivers effective sound insulation as well.

Security options include versions approved for use in Secured by Design projects and EN V 1627 up to Class 3.

AWS 75.SI windows can also be specified with Green Guide A rated frames for use in BREEAM buildings.

The AWS 75 BS.SI is based on a hidden vent design where opening and fixed lights look identical when viewed from the outside.

This window can be specified with security options that meet Class 3 of EN V 1627 or glazing to achieve 45 dB R W sound reduction.

Available as tilt-turn, side-hung and bottom-hung, both of these inward-opening windows are suitable for use in domestic dwellings and for commercial properties.

All versions can be integrated into Schuco facades, complementing especially the company's latest super-insulated FW 50+.SI and FW 60+.SI systems.

Both the AWS 75.SI and the AWS 75 BS.SI systems utilise the latest upgraded Schuco AvanTec hinges and locking mechanisms, enabling them to accommodate vent weights up to 160 kg.

Since the locking and hinge components are concealed within the frames (only the stylish handle remains visible), there is no need for specially coloured hinges or concerns about plaster lines conflicting with surface-mounted hardware.

Schueco UK Limited is a Secured by Design licence holder and is constantly increasing its range of security solutions for windows and doors.
