Latest Power Meter Benefits Powerlogic Users
Schneider Electric has introduced a new range of power meters, the PM700 series, to provide users with all of the basic measurement capabilities needed for monitoring an electrical installation.
Power Meter Gives Users Energy Use Control
The PM800 series of Power meters gives users the advanced measurement capabilities needed for monitoring complex electrical installations and ensuring the effective use of energy.
Schneider Electric Projects and Services will provide advanced electrical network management and analysis via the PowerLogic e-services offer.
The system is fully compatible with existing PowerLogic site systems and can be easily retrofitted to non-PowerLogic sites.
Schneider Electric engineers can provide a complete solution through a suite of Web-enabled Ethernet communication devices, PowerLogic software and reporting expertise to enable the user to control the cost, quality and reliability of their site.
PowerLogic e-services encompasses three main elements, e-consumption: electricity consumption services; e-quality: power quality services; and e-asset: installation maintenance services.
e-consumption provides visibility of the daily energy consumption used on site and consumption trending over a period of time.
This enables the identification of annual consumption profiles on all monitored feeders.
The profiles can then provide a comparison of actual energy consumption against provisions made.
Consumption profiles can then provide a breakdown for precise cost allocation.
The e-quality service provides a permanent watch of the power quality, facilitating the early detection of risk of disturbances, such as voltage sag and swell, harmonics and unbalance.
e-quality services can also provide identification of disturbance sources for direct correlation with production losses, induced by lack of quality and poor availability.
e-asset services enables optimised maintenance costs and investments in the installation.
It allows the user to view the installation capacity and performance of equipment, providing detailed maintenance follow-up information and a schedule.
It also details an item-by-item list of equipment within the installation and provides characteristics of each item.
Additionally, the e-asset service provides an 'ageing analysis' report of the equipment enabling maintenance plans to be adapted accordingly.
Equipment on site collects data, which is then sent securely via the internet to a team of experienced Schneider Electric engineers who collate the information from each element of the PowerLogic e-services suite.
These experts then interpret the results to provide the customer with a simple report providing analysis, observations, conclusions and recommendations on the key areas of their electrical system.
The report will help decision making to maximise cost savings and ensure optimum plant efficiency.
