Power Management strengthened by integration

PowerLogic energy metering and management solution from Merlin Gerin, a brand of Schneider Electric, has been strengthened and expanded by the integration of the ION range.

This new solution was officially unveiled at the Institution of Engineering and Technology at the end of June to Schneider Electric's customers.

This integration of the solutions, which follows Schneider Electric's recent acquisition of Canadian based Power Measurement ., now provides users with a single source of supply for a uniquely comprehensive set of power monitoring and control solutions.

These cover applications at every level from the utility's distribution grid to the end user's cabling circuits.

"In the field of power monitoring and control, our objective is clear and simple," said Richard Hipkiss of Schneider Electric's Building Services and Solutions.

"It's to give our customers ready access to the best possible tools and services for taking control of their utility consumption and power usage".

"This allows them to achieve better cost management, improved operating efficiency and increased profits," he continued.

"Integrating the ION solution with the PowerLogic solution puts us in an exceptionally strong position to deliver these essential benefits, as well as giving us the strongest possible base for further innovation and development".

As a result of the merging of the solution, Power Measurement ION products will, in future, be sold under the PowerLogic ION identity, while existing PowerLogic products will retain their existing identity.

Model numbers, product designations and other channel partners are unaffected.

The powerful PowerLogic System Manager Software and ION Enterprise monitoring and analysis software can now support both Merlin Gerin PowerLogic and PowerLogic ION hardware.

Both suites of software provide both a remarkably user-friendly interface and comprehensive set of analysis and reporting tools through which to identify potential savings through energy and power management.

Other than the re-branding, the products will not change in any way, retaining their award winning features and innovative functions.

All current products will continue to be available through the Schneider Electric and the PMC Alliance Partners of C-Matic Systems and VAR Services, and all will continue to be fully supported.

Users will, however, benefit from access to enhanced commercial and technical support services made possible by Schneider Electric's and its channel partners unmatched expertise in the field of power management, and by the global scale of its operations.

The extensive existing PowerLogic and ION installed user base will now also gain support from both Schneider Electric and its PMC Alliance Partners.
