Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 29, 2003

SIEL UPS Systems have recently extended it's 'SAFEPOWER' UPS range with the addition of a single module rated at 1,000kVA.

Developed and manufactured by it's parent Company, SIEL SpA, the system incorporates the latest IGBT power conversion technology and is configured for True On Line Double Conversion operation complete with static bypass, although it can be readily configured for 'ECOMODE' operation if required.

Equipped with a 12 pulse rectifier/charger the system complies fully with the latest European standards.

For a system of such high capacity the unit has an unmatched footprint of just 2.7m2 and is housed within 2 cabinets each 1,350mm in length for ease of installation.

Access is from the front for routine service and maintenance.

A comprehensive control and LCD displays a complete range of operating data, including input and output metering (Volts, Hz, Amps, kW and kVA) battery voltage, current, capacity and temperature and 'event history'.

An LED equipped synoptic panel provides an immediate means of power flow identification.

Remote monitoring can be provided by a variety of options including; communications software for a networked environment, 'TELEGLOBAL' Service at SIEL's UK base or through BMS supported protocols including Modbus, Jbus and Profibus.

Up to 5 systems can be operated in parallel for either increased system capacity and/or redundancy based on the Company's unique 'De-centralised' parallel architecture providing unsurpassed levels of system integrity and flexibility.

The 'SAFEPOWER' range includes single module ratings from 250 - 1,000kVA.
