Sika Keeps The Changing Of The Guard Dry
The basement stores for The Royal Horseguards at Block B, Hyde Park Barracks, Knightsbridge in London were recently refurbished and waterproofed by Sika Limited.
The basement stores for The Royal Horseguards at Block B, Hyde Park Barracks, Knightsbridge in London were recently refurbished and waterproofed by Sika Limited using a combination of four products to produce a watertight structure The basement area which houses The Royal Horseguards riding equipment, uniforms and swords had suffered water penetration to walls and floor areas over a number of years

SikaWrap 300A, a strong and tough Aramid fabric wrap system, was recently chosen to protect the columns on Gypsy Lane Flyover on the A38 north of Bristol against vehicle impact damage.
The Sika team provided a watertight environment to BS 8102 Grade 3 sealing all joints and produced a finished coat to match regimental colours.
Sika-1 pre bagged waterproofing system was used for the walls;Combiflex was used to seal the joints whilst Epocem and Sikafloor 261 were used respectively to coat and finish the floor area in regimental colours.
The benefits of using Sika products were a fast-track, environmentally friendly solution and no requirement for excavation as tanking could be undertaken internally.
The changing of the Guards will now always be in the dry - not the same for them on Parade!.
