Sika On Trafford Shopping Centre Shopping List

Sika Limited, market leader in single ply roofing membranes has recently been invited back to roof a new extension to Trafford Shopping Centre, Trafford, Manchester.

The original 100,000 square metres roofing project at Trafford Centre, was waterproofed by Sika Limited in 1996 with Trocal S, one of its single ply roofing membrane systems.

The new extension is 4,000 square metres and was previously a market hall known as Festival Village.

The old market place housed dozens of stalls selling various wares and food.

Now the new area has standard retail use and will shortly house a nationally known retailer.

The Trocal team adapted the adjoining Trafford Centre roofing, to extend onto the new area.

Again the Trocal S single ply roofing system was used with mechanical fastening.

The prime considerations in Sika Limited winning the contract were the performance of the original Trocal S installation, speed of laying and cost effectiveness.

Looks like Sika will be on more shopping lists.
